HOST REWARDS TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

DEFINITIONS

 

Member means a person that has been approved by the Programme Operator to be an Individual Member in the Programme.

Membership means membership of the Programme by a Member.

Membership Card means the card that is provided to each Member by the Programme Operator.

Membership Number means the number that is provided to a Member on their Host Rewards Loyalty Card.

Membership Profile means the details of the Member held online at hostrewards.co.nz.

Participating Host Accommodation Property means a Hotel, Motel or Motor Lodge which operates under Host Accommodation Group at the relevant time.  For the current list of participating Host Accommodation Hotels, Motels or Motor Lodges please see hostaccommodation.co.nz.

Reward Points means Reward Points earned when you stay at a participating Host Accommodation Provider as outlined in these Terms and Conditions by a Member.

Points Balance means the amount of available Reward Points in a Member’s account.

Programme means the Host Rewards Programme.

Programme Benefits means benefits and rewards that accrue to a Member in the Programme as set out in Clause 5.

Programme Operator means Host Accommodation Group Inc.

Programme Partnermeans any Participating Host Accommodation provider.

Reward Pointsmeans Reward Points earned by a Member in the Programme.

Terms and Conditions mean’s these terms and conditions which apply to Members of the Programme.

 

  TERMS & CONDITIONS 

1.1 About these terms
These Terms and Conditions are for the Host Rewards Loyalty Programme. Your participation in the Programme will be governed by these Terms and Conditions. It is a Member’s responsibility to read and understand them. We ask that you read them carefully.

1.2 When these terms apply to you
These Terms and Conditions apply to you if you are a Member of the Programme. Each use of your Membership Card or your Membership Number signifies your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions as amended from time to time.

1.3 Changes from time to time
The Programme Operator may at its entire discretion amend these Terms and Conditions, including Benefits of the Programme, from time to time.

1.4 Types of Memberships
Membership may be held by a person accepted for membership under Section 3 below.

1.5 Cost
Members do not have to pay to join the Programme.

1.6 Membership profile
A Member can update their Membership Profile online at My Rewards.

 

 

PROGRAMME PARTNERS
The Programme Partners (including the list of Participating Host Accommodation Hotels, Motels & Motor Lodges) will vary from time to time.  Members should check at Accommodation for the current listing of Programme Partners.

 

MEMBERSHIP
3.1 General Criteria:

Membership is for an individual person and provides that person with certain benefits as set out in these Terms and Conditions.

  1. The Programme Operator may approve the individual’s  Membership application at its sole discretion;
  2. The individual must be 18 years of age or older; and
  3. The individual must provide and maintain details of a valid and unique email address for their Membership at the time of joining and for their period of Membership.

3.2 Term of Membership
The term of Membership is from the date of enrolment until either:
a. termination of Membership by the Member; or
b. termination of Membership by the Programme Operator.

 

MEMBERSHIP CARD, MEMBERSHIP NUMBER AND ACTIVATION OF MEMBERSHIP

4.1 The Programme Operator will issue each Member with a Host Rewards Loyalty Card
Following the Programme Operator accepting a Member’s application for Membership, the Programme Operator will provide that Member with a Membership Card.  Each card has a unique Membership Number.  The Membership Card is not transferable and must not be used by any person other than the Member to secure any of the Programme Benefits.

4.2 Security of Membership Card and Membership Number
The Member must keep the Membership Card secure at all times. If the Membership Card is lost or stolen, the Member must immediately advise the Programme Operator.

4.3 Use of accurate Member details
A Member must present their Host Rewards Loyalty Card when making bookings or seeking to receive the Programme Benefits.  

The Programme Operator shall be entitled to assume that any person that purports to be a Member and provides (whether in person or through any electronic, telecommunications or other media) the Membership name and number to the Programme Operator is in fact the Member. The Programme Operator shall be entitled to:
– reveal to any such person any and all information relating to their Membership and Membership bookings, and
– treat and act on any request of such a person with respect to any other matter regarding the Programme without taking any further steps to verify the identity of the person.

4.4 The Host Rewards Loyalty Card is not transferrable and remains the property of the Host Accommodation Group Inc.

 

ACCRUING & REDEEMING POINTS

5.1 1 card per room per night

5.2 1 Point = $1

5.3 5 base points accrued per night stay = $5 (excludes promotional periods, double rewards points etc)

5.4 Points are valid for 12 months from the date of accrual

5.5 Minimum redemption is 30 points = $30

5.6 Points are valid for redemption when the following criteria have been met:

a. A minimum of 30 points have been accrued (if the minimum drops below 30 points due to redeeming points then the member must accumulate additional points to bring the balance back up to 30 points.)

b. More than one Host Accommodation Group property must be involved in the accrual or redemption of points up to the total accumulated on the Rewards Card.

5.7 Points cannot be used for breakfast, internet etc.  Points can be redeemed for accommodation only.

5.8 Long term stays of more than 14 consecutive nights & group bookings are excluded.

5.9 Redemptions are for direct bookings only and cannot be redeemed through third party booking sites or agencies.

5.10 Points can be accrued for bookings made through third party sites and agencies.

5.11 Points maybe transferred to another Host Rewards Member online at hostrewards.co.nz.

5.12 Points are not redeemable for cash or credit.

 

 

TERMINATION AND LIABILITY

6.1 Misuse of Membership
If in the Programme Operator’s reasonable opinion, a Member is using their Membership in an abusive or fraudulent way, has failed to comply with these Terms and Conditions, has committed any unlawful act, or causes willful damage to the Programme Operator’s property or a Programme Partner’s property, the Programme Operator may at its election:
a. immediately terminate the Membership;
b. suspend a Membership temporarily until further notice;
c. reverse or cancel any Host Rewards Points and, or other Programme Benefits that a Member has accrued; or
d. refuse to honour the redemption of Host Rewards Points.

6.2 Termination on death of person who is Member
On the death of a person who is a Member the Membership will automatically terminate.

6.3 Termination without cause
The Programme Operator may terminate the Programme at any time without cause.

6.4 Consequences of termination
All Member benefits, offers and rewards will be forfeited on termination of a Membership or termination of the Programme.  The Programme Operator (and its related bodies corporate and Programme Partners) will have no further liability to any Member on termination of the Member’s membership or on termination of the Programme.

 

GENERAL

7.1 Tax liability
Rewards and offers that are available to Members may be subject to some tax liability. The Member is responsible for those taxes.
